Welcome to the 19 Annual ELT Conference in the great city of Beirut, Lebanon.

Contributions to ATEL 2016 (abstracts and papers) should be submitted online.
Please, remember the following important dates:
• Abstract Submission Deadline: March 15 , 2016. (included)

• Notification of Acceptance/Rejection: March 25 , 2016.

• Final Paper Submission Deadline: April 25 , 2016. (included)

• Powerpoint submission deadline: May 10 , 2016

Abstract Submission Guidelines
• Abstracts should be submitted online. (http://www.atel-lb.org )
• The deadline for abstract submission is March 15th, 2016.
• All abstracts must be submitted and presented in English.
• Abstracts should be based on any of the topic areas listed () or related areas.
• Abstracts should be 150-200 words.
• The notification of acceptance/rejection of the abstracts submitted will be sent to you via email by
March 25 , 2016. 6

Final Paper Submission
• If your abstract has been accepted, you can submit your Final Paper. There is a limit of 1,500-3,000 6
words with a maximum of 3 tables/charts. Your paper could be a research paper or a reflection on your
workshop. The purpose is to be informative enough to benefit teachers who couldn’t attend your session.
• Your paper should have the following format: Font 12, Times New Romans, APA style
• Contributions will be published (1) in ATEL newsletter that will be issued in February 2017 and (2) on
ATEL website after the conference around June 8 , 2016.

Your Presentation
• You can submit an abstract for a 25 min paper or 25 min workshop. It’s advisable to present in 20
min and allow the audience to ask you questions for 5 minutes.
• To avoid possible technical problems, your powerpoint presentation (ppt) MUST be emailed to atel_
[email protected] by May 10th, 2016. A laptop and an LCD projector will be available in each room.
NOTE: The conference is an open event i.e. the number of participants for each presentation is unknown.
We expect around 850 teachers who will attend the presentations/workshops according to their interests.
If you would like to distribute handouts during your session, you can make around 50 copies that teachers
can share. You can also email us ([email protected]) your handouts which will be posted on ATEL
website after the conference.
